An Oldie But A Goodie
A substantial renovation was undertaken to modernize this heritage home, not only in style but also in its functionality, for life today is lived differently than when the house was originally constructed. A complete re-design of the main floor removed its ‘small rooms layout’ and completely relocated the kitchen/dining area for improved workflow and more comfortable entertaining. A much larger feeling and more comfortable home was created inside the existing footprint – no addition necessary. The kitchen relocation also allows the expanded sundecks to be accessed and enjoyed from multiple rooms, and the new arrangement provides much more natural light throughout. The exterior retains its heritage required façade, while the neutral interior is tastefully modern yet respectful to the historical home. There was much technical upgrading achieved in this renovation while the house was taken back to foundation and studs in order to achieve its upgrade while retaining heritage integrity. The home that it is today is a beautiful new version of the original charming house... and its merits include HAVAN Awards 2021 Best Character Home Renovation!
