Heather studied Interior Design at the Art Institute of Vancouver and BCIT, before being accepted into the competitive CIDA Accredited Interior Design Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Interior Design. She has over 8 years’ experience in the residential design industry.
Heather passed her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design exams, and maintains her LEED AP ID+C credential, with a specialty in interior design, by continuously educating herself on the built environment. Her dedication to sustainability and volunteer work on the Cascadia Green Building Council and the Kwantlen Emerging Green Builders, won her the “Emerging Professional Leadership Award” at the 2011 Living Future Conference.
At SGDI, Heather enjoys working with clients towards a home that not only works for them functionally, but also represents them and makes them feel at home. She finds designing and seeing ideas come to fruition truly rewarding, striving to provide not only beautiful and functional homes, but healthy and happy ones as well.
As a self-proclaimed homebody, Heather knows the importance of being in a comfortable, efficient, and healthy home. She is an environmentalist and animal lover, with a lifelong passion for design, art and architecture.
Heather has passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) to be able to hold the title of Registered Interior Designer (RID).
