Jaime
Custom Home Designer

From an early age Jaime has had great interest in design. As a child she made pop up floor plans just for the fun of it as it provided hours of entertainment. She also had a good hand at drawing and was always working on some sort of sketch. In high school she spent half her senior year in a technical school studying computer programming and enrolled in other electives such as drafting and artistic drawing. It was no surprise after graduation she enrolled into ITT Technical Institute to complete the CAD Drafting & Design program, where she graduated with honors.
Jaime’s first design role after graduation was in landscape design. She worked on small to elaborate residential projects and learned about the Japanese garden style under a master gardener. In 2005 she moved to B.C. and began work as a custom product designer with a decorative paving company. There she collaborated on projects throughout the world dedicated to turning ideas into aesthetically pleasing products that could be installed onto asphalt.
Around 2016 Jaime decided to leave manufacturing and enter the world of architecture. She started to work on small renovation projects for DIY homeowners needing permit plans as well as contract work for other designers. Soon after she enrolled into the Architectural Building Technology program at BCIT in order to become more versed in construction technology and building codes.
At SGDI, Jaime is able to realize her passion for custom home design and uses her skillful CAD drawings to bring the clients vision to life. She liaises with clients, the cities, and the design team to ensure the drawings prepared meet all requirements. She is currently working toward registration with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia to become a certified architectural technologist.
